Clean Loop: Waste Management Chi-Phat
Organization:
Khiri Travel Cambodia
Executive Summary:
This project supports a community-led waste separation system in Chi Phat, an eco-tourism village in Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountains. Starting with 20 households, it introduces waste sorting, local education, and circular solutions to reduce pollution and inspire lasting change.
Through partnerships with TONTOTON, Everwave, and Khiri Reach, the project will turn plastic waste into playground equipment, organize cleanup events, and provide waste management education. It also works closely with local authorities to ensure proper waste collection and recycling.
By meeting community needs—such as creating a playground for the local kindergarten—the project shows how simple circular practices can bring both environmental and social benefits to rural communities.
