Passion for travel has been in Willem’s blood since a young age. Being Dutch, his first explorations in Europe were on a bicycle. His career in the travel industry started with selling airline tickets at a student travel organization in the 1980s. He moved to Thailand in 1987 to further his career in the travel industry. He has been there ever since. Willem founded Khiri Travel in a small room of a Bangkok shop house in 1993, with a bold vision to establish a “one-stop travel shop for the Greater Mekong sub-Region”. 

Mew has been working and volunteering since high school as a member of Interact Clubs. She always finds time to engage in volunteer work. After graduation, she gained prior experience working for an NGO before joining Khiri Travel. At Khiri Travel, she is responsible for overseeing sustainability as the Sustainability Coordinator.

Sofia is a Filipino/Singaporean mix but has been based in Thailand since 2006. She is passionate about animal welfare and sustainability related matters (beach clean-ups, volunteer teaching, etc.). Outside of Khiri, she spends her time hiking unseen destinations, trying out new cuisines and spending time with her two dogs.

Mai, our Senior Marketing, has a strong passion for volunteer work, particularly in the field of education. She has previously volunteered as a teacher for Hill Tribe students in Tak, Thailand, and has been involved in numerous volunteer projects across the country. As a Khiri Reach Ambassador, Mai is able to actively participate in volunteer projects. 

Sabaidee! I’m Miemala or call me Mie Mie from the Operation Team In Vientiane, Original born in Huaphun Province in the north of Laos, Now I live and work in Vientiane. I enjoy spending my time looking and learning about the sky, forests, rivers and special things earth has to be share.

I’m very proud to be an ambassador for Khiri Reach. I have already set up and taken part in some exciting projects such as invasive Species Clean up and Biodiversity Presentation for International day of Biological Diversity 2018. I very feel happy to have the chance every time I join new project and see it as a learning experience. 

My name is Dara and I am from the Travel Designer Team. I have been working with Khiri Travel Cambodia for almost 8 years. My main role is to assist the agent in all types of inquiries, bookings and also to maintain a good relationship between the agent and Khiri Travel. I love being a Khiri Reach Ambassador because a simple reason “Working at a company and have a chance to help the society at the same time, why do I hesitate to decide?”.

I work with Khiri Travel base in the South of Thailand, Phuket. In the past, Phuket team and I visited The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project and we had to adopt a gibbon named Ram Thai. I am so proud to be a part of Khiri Reach.

I am a salesperson from Khiri Travel Laos, I am very happy to be a part of Khiri Reach Ambassadors and I look forward to working with the team and sharing the experience about Laos as closely as possible. 

I am Diana and I joined Khiri Travel in July 2023 and I am currently working as Senior Reservation & Contracting Executive. I have 10 years of experiences in travel & tourism industry. Even though I had interest in Sustainability, it was after joining Khiri Travel that I got the opportunity to actually see how it is being implemented into each tour that we operate. I am very much excited to be one of the Khiri Reach Ambassadors where I would get a chance to identify projects we could collaborate with and contribute to while continuously monitoring the progress of each project. I find it fascinating to see how tourism can contribute to making this planet a better place

I joined Khiri Travel in October 2021 and I am currently working as Senior Executive Accounting. Even though I am coming from a finance background, since high school days I have been working in several societies such as Red Cross School Circle, School Youth Club and School Life Saving Association. After joining Khiri Travel, I got the opportunity to travel around the country with our team and it was really interesting to see them creating new experiences while keeping in mind to contribute to the local communities and conserve the environment beyond just numbers. I am excited to be one of the Khiri Reach Ambassadors where I would get the opportunity to observe and monitor the progress with various projects that we are contributing to while doing more research to identify potential projects we could coordinate with in the future.
