Gibbon Rehabilitation Project: Restoring Wild Lives in Phuket

Nestled in Ban Pae Waterfall, Khao Pra Taew National Park, the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project (GRP) has been a beacon of hope for over 20 years. The project rescues gibbons confiscated by government authorities from tourist attractions and rehabilitates them, helping these remarkable animals regain the skills needed to return to their natural habitat.

Khiri Travel is proud to support the GRP by creating tour programs that include a 1-hour learning session and a hike to the nearby waterfall. This year, we’ve arranged 2-3 bookings to visit the GRP, offering travelers a chance to learn about their vital conservation work firsthand.

On September 12, 2024, the Phuket Team and I visited the GRP to deepen our engagement. We donated THB 10,000 to support the construction of their Educational Center and THB 4,000 to provide food for the gibbons. During our visit, we also participated in the learning program, gaining valuable insights into their efforts to protect and rehabilitate these incredible animals.
