COVID Relief, Ho Chi Minh City

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, causing widespread economic hardship. Many laborers in districts like Binh Tan, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Tan Phu, and Nha Be lost their jobs due to the crisis.

The pandemic created an emergency situation as numerous families in these districts faced unemployment and economic struggles, with limited access to basic necessities like food.

Khiri Travel Vietnam and Khiri Reach took action by purchasing 148 kg of rice. They distributed this rice to the affected communities in Ho Chi Minh City. Additionally, local communities implemented Rice-ATMs, which allowed for contactless rice distribution. People in need could fill their own bags with free rice from these dispensers. Khiri’s contribution provided crucial support to families during a time of economic distress, demonstrating the importance of community assistance during emergencies.
