WARF Gibbon Rehabilitation Project

For over two decades, the Wild Animal Rescue Foundation’s Gibbon Rehabilitation Project (GRP) has worked tirelessly to preserve the remaining wild gibbons on Phuket Island. Gibbons are vital to the island’s ecosystem, threatened by poaching and habitat loss.

This project’s importance cannot be overstated, as gibbons play a pivotal role in Phuket’s ecological balance and overall ecosystem health. The GRP’s anti-poaching campaigns and traveler awareness initiatives are critical for their continued existence.

From 2015 to 2018, Khiri Reach recognized the GRP’s significance and provided financial support. This aid contributed to rescuing and rehabilitating gibbons, showcasing Khiri Reach’s commitment to wildlife protection and environmental preservation, aligning with the GRP’s mission to safeguard these precious animals and Phuket Island’s ecological equilibrium.
